Fig. 1 The rate of TBARS accumulation (with static MF/without artificial MF) in mouse brain homogenates after incubation (37°C, 40 min) with FeCl3. Mean±S.D. (n=6–36). When the homogenates were incubated in static MF (2–4 mT), the accumulation of TBARS statistically decreased (2 mT: P<0.0001, 3 mT: P<0.023, 4 mT: P<0.0001, by paired t-test). However, static MF at the magnitude of 1 and 5–300 mT had no effect on the accumulation of TBARS. Pathophysiology 2001 7, DOI: ( /S (00) )

Fig. 2 Comparison of TBARS accumulation induced by the incubation (37°C, 40 min) in the presence of FeCl3 (50 μM) with or without static MF exposure at the magnitude of 2, 3 and 4 mT. Left circles represent the accumulation of TBARS incubated without artificial MF, and right circles represent the accumulation of TBARS incubated under artificial MF exposure. The corresponding data were connected with a line. Significant changes (2 mT: P<0.0001, 3 mT: P<0.023, 4 mT: P<0.0001, by paired t-test) were observed. Pathophysiology 2001 7, DOI: ( /S (00) )

Fig. 3 Comparison of TBARS accumulation induced by the incubation (37°C, 40 min) of mice brain homogenate with EDTA (20 mM) in the presence of H2O2 (2.5 mM) with or without static MF exposure at the magnitude of 3 mT. Left column represents the rate of TBARS accumulation (with static MF/without artificial MF) (mean±SD) and the right column represents the comparison of the corresponding data. Left circles represent the accumulation of TBARS incubated without artificial MF and right circles represent the accumulation of TBARS incubated under the exposure of artificial MF. n=17. No statistic changes were observed. Pathophysiology 2001 7, DOI: ( /S (00) )

Fig. 4 Comparison of TBARS accumulation induced by the incubation (37°C, 40 min) of phosphatidylcholine solution (1 mg/ml) in the presence of FeCl3 (50 μM) and H2O2 (0.25 mM) with or without static MF exposure at the magnitude of 3 mT. Left column represents the rate of TBARS accumulation (with static MF/without artificial MF) (mean±S.D.) and right column represents the comparison of the corresponding data. Left circles represent the accumulation of TBARS incubated without artificial MF and right circles represent the accumulation of TBARS incubated under the exposure of artificial MF. n=19. Statistically significant change (P=0.0025, by paired t-test) was observed. Pathophysiology 2001 7, DOI: ( /S (00) )
