We have two faces and one can define two expressions for each face to get 4 expressions of Cyberinfrastructure Petascale machines Grids of "modest" Clusters of Multicores Web 2.0 style sites and technologies Web Service/OGSA/Globus style Grid Infrastructure Some Questions for these expressions a) Contrast the probably discipline specific benefits to and requirements from escience of each Cyberinfrastructure expression b) Comment on maturity, Academic interest, Industry interest and Government investments in the different expressions of Cyberinfrastructure c) How will these expressions of Cyberinfrastructure look 5 years from now (i.e. extend Moore's law to Atkins' law!) d) How does all this impact your favorite organizations: Grid2007, Microsoft, NSF, OGF, TACC, TeraGrid, UK eScience e) How do different faces and different expressions compete and complement each other
