Mission Vision } and { Mission “Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.” (Proverbs 29:18, ESV) }

Love your neighbour as yourself. - Luke 10:26

Regular Sunday worship presence, regular house-to-house group involvement, and regular service within the church. Prayerful consideration and invitation of four (4) people who do not presently attend church to any one of our events. Consideration of three reasons why God is worthy of your worship. Service in love and in the manner and spirit of Jesus of someone you might have been less than merciful towards.

LONGING

“I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” (John 17:20-23)

In a very real way, we ought to gather each Sunday to encounter Jesus, to experience the presence of Christ as we focus upon delivering Him praise, glory and honour and to somehow show love to one another – to our neighbours – in the process.

“A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” … he said to the man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” (Mark 2:1-12)

THE CROWD

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 informs us that “all this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation”.
13
Of the four people God has placed upon your heart to invite to an event at Hillside, consider which one might need you to tear away a part of the roof to lower them into the presence of God. Then, pray specifically for this person and commit to some roof tearing when the Holy Spirit presents you with the opportunity.
14
Oh, that we would become a mat carrying, roof tearing, God-worshipping and neighbor-serving people. Might we become a unified community pursuing our God-given purpose, a people where crooked longings are made straight through Jesus Christ. 5
