Approved DPM Change Requests
DS approved the Bus Low/High Voltage Limits Change Request with the alteration below. Field Description Requirements Vmax Maximum pre-contingency System Operating Limit (SOL) voltage provided to applicable Reliability Coordinator (pu) If the bus is not included in SOL submittals the software’s default value of should be used. MVWG Update Momentary Cessation “Most characteristics of momentary cessation can be modeled using the second‐generation generic renewable energy system models: regc_a, reec_a Voltage‐dependent active and reactive current reduction: VDL1 and VDL2 in reec_a Low voltage power logic switch: lvplsw=0 in regc_a Ramp control of active and reactive current: rrpwr, Iqrmax and Iqrmin in regc_a Active and reactive current control priority: pqflag = 1 if active current priority; = 0 if reactive current priority in reec_a Voltage dip logic: Vdip = Vmc‐lv and Vup = Vmc‐hv in reec_a Recovery delay: thld2 in reec_a” Western Electricity Coordinating Council

SAMS Node Breaker Modeling Pilot
Update provided at August 2nd SAMS meeting Reviewing draft NDA to share data in this group The modeling group started with PSSE models in the East Coast Model Issues seen with trying to model Node Breaker topology for multiple switched shunts on the same powerflow bus Crashing occuring when modeling a Node Breaker substation that has a VSC DC device. Looking for volunteers to expand with PowerWorld and GE PSLF models To participate contact Jonathan Young Western Electricity Coordinating Council

SAMS MOD Group NERC System Analysis and Modeling Subcommittee (SAMS) is performing an assessment of industry practices around base case model building to understand the current state-of-the-art practices for each PC area and their interconnection. Identify seminaries and differences among practices and provide recommendations for consistency. Continue to Develop questionnaire To participate contact Jonathan Young Western Electricity Coordinating Council
