6. Why Study the Family & the Home?
The home is important…
A place to teach God’s word (Gen. 18:19)
A place to train children (Eph. 6:1-4)
A place to provide love (Tit. 2:4-5)
Ephesians 6:1-4 1  Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2  "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: 3  "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." 4  And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
Titus 2:4-5 4  that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5  to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
Genesis 18:19 19  For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him."
