2 The Crimes of Jesus He told us that God values sincerity over insincerity. He told us that we are rebels who will fail. He told us that we are invited – but not necessary. He told us that we are not our own. He rebuked us for being religious. He told us we are unprepared for our fondest hope. He judged our fearful obedience as disobedience.

3 Judgment Matthew 25:31-33 God’s glory is certain.
God’s judgment will come. Our status is under review.

4 The Standard of Judgment
Matthew 25:34-36 In the biggest possible setting, we will be judged by our smallest possible works. For Jesus, all goodness is personal.

5 We Were Wrong Matthew 25:37-40
The “righteous” did not know their deeds mattered. The “righteous” did not know who they were helping. The “righteous” did not know they were being righteous.

6 The Standard of Judgment
Matthew 25:41-43 In the biggest possible setting, we will be judged by our smallest possible oversights. For Jesus, all evil is personal.

7 We Were Wrong Matthew 25:44-46
The “cursed” did not know their neighbors mattered. The “cursed” did not know who they were ignoring. The “cursed” did not know they were being unrighteous.
