Students can be frustrated when, as shown by NSS scores for example: Resource lists contain material not available in the library Resource lists have out of date books on them They provide no context or guidance It is difficult to access the material on the list They can’t find a resource list for their module Online reading lists can help overcome all of these issues. 5 Workflow… START Create a profile END
Login to the system Set up your profile (note you need a public profile) Install the Bookmarklet button for your browser in “My Bookmarks” (note you can do this for various browsers). Create a list (you will build up a list in a section called “My Lists”) Create bookmarks from the library and other sources [Edit where necessary and save bookmarks] Create additional bookmarks from the rest of the web and other sources if required Structure the list into sections and populate the list with the bookmarks you created earlier Publish the list Attach the list to your module using “Link to Hierarchy” - we will tell you a bit more at the end....

Copyright and digitisation Our guide to copyright includes information on the recent changes which came into force on the 1st June 2014. Copying under Licence – provides information on the digitisation service which helps you provide material such as journal articles and book chapters easily via your online reading list and the VLE and at the same time stay within the law. Choose the “copying under licence” section for information and the online submission form.
