Rationale Lead-in edit allows for acquisition time and joins gaps in detection Presence of gaps and impact of edit rules roughly twice as large for radio (higher percentage of B and C codes is also evidence supporting greater detection difficulty) Lower radio code detection rates likely due to more complex audio environments - radio is more likely to be secondary activity; more likely to take place outside the home; more likely played at low volume
