Promised to return the U.S to normalcy, which meant that the U.S would stay out of foreign affairs Overturned much of the progressive legislation of the Wilson Administration Considered to be one of America’s worst presidents

4 The Presidents Calvin Coolidge: 30th President of the United States
Harding’s Vice President Raised tariffs to protect the U.S. from foreign competition Historians have blamed his laissez-faire ideology for the Great Depression

5 The Radicals Eugene V. Debs: Labor union activist
Convicted of violating the Espionage Act by giving a speech criticizing the war; sentenced to ten years in federal prison. The Socialist Party's candidate for U.S. president five times between 1900 and 1920.

6 The Radicals Mitchel Palmer: U.S Attorney General
Arrested Americans who were accused of being communists During the "Red Scare". Had Socialist Headquarters raided frequently raided; "Palmer Raids"

Italian immigrants and anarchists, were executed for murder by the state of Massachusetts in 1927
