1 Department of physics and ITPA, G.X.Peng(GUCAS/IHEP,Beijing)
Strange stars with Different quark mass scalings Li Ang (李昂) Department of physics and ITPA, Xiamen University Collaborator: R.X.Xu (PKU,Beijing) G.X.Peng(GUCAS/IHEP,Beijing) J.F.Lu(XMU,Xiamen) May 20-24, 2009, Beijing

2 Motivation: BIG uncertainty of density dependence of Quark masses
Linear scaling: x = eg: Fowler et al. 1981, Chakrabarty 1991; Widely used; Pure phenomenological Cubic scaling: x = 1/3 eg: Peng et al. 2000; Developed recently; Based on quark chiral and linear confinement Other forms eg: Dey et al. 1998, Wang 2000, Zhang & Su 2003.

3 Problem: FEW constrains from QCD

4 Aim: What extent this model allowed to study SQM
Where x is treated as a FREE parameter (0.1-3); C is determined by stability arguments. THAT is:

5 Formula of quark mass-density-dependent model
