Warm-up, October 18 In the U.S., citizens have the right to vote beginning at age 18. Do you think this is an appropriate age? Why or why not? If you think it should change, what age should it be and why? (This should be a short paragraph response, at least 3 sentences)

Warm-up, October 19 What does the word “amendment” mean? The Bill of Rights consists of Amendments 1-10 of the Constitution. Some states refused to sign the original constitution in 1789 until they were promised a Bill of Rights would be forthcoming. Why do you think they might have been so hesitant to sign the constitution without that promise? (Try to write at least 3 sentences.)

Warm-up, October 20 Who do you think should have the right to propose an amendment to the constitution? Currently, Congress proposes the amendments and the state legislatures vote on them. Do you think the public should be allowed to vote on such matters? Why or why not? (4 sentences) There will be no warm-up tomorrow. Turn in your warm-up today.
