This half term we will be investigating how the role of women in England and Wales has changed since 1900. Write down everything you can think of about the life of a lady at the turn of the twentieth century!

What was the traditional role of women?
L.O. To investigate the role of women at the start of the twentieth century. By the end of this lesson... ALL OF US will be able to understand the class system, high society and identify expectations of women pre (E-D) EVEN BETTER IF you can describe the lives of those in each class and Edwardian High Society. Women from different classes had very different lives.
In England and Wales we have always had a hierarchy in our society. At the start of the twentieth century this was known as the CLASS SYSTEM. Women from different classes had very different lives. USE THE HANDOUT TO GIVE A ONE SENTENCE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE FOR EACH CLASS. UPPER CLASS MIDDLE CLASS WORKING CLASS Could you empathise with the experience with these classes and write a first person description of their life? UNDER CLASS
