2 An opportunity to increase your rate of pay for completion of eligible coursework A pay as you go system that compensates eligible courses on a per credit basis

3 February 15 th Deadline Use iVisions To be eligible for a salary credit increase, a completed course records must be submitted into iVisions on or before February 15 th of the year prior to the increase. Any credits less than 10 years old that you are not already being compensated for, that was completed while you were an active KSD employee in an eligible position can be submitted as completed courses for eligibility consideration. Please refer to the ESP Meet & Confer document on-line, pages 24-30 for additional information. To request pre-approval (not required) of a course or to submit your completed courses, you must always use iVisions. Visions Self-Service Portal * Login * Click on My Workflow * Click on Coursework

4 The allocation of monies for Professional Growth for future school years is determined by the Governing Board annually based on available funding. Education Support Professionals who submit eligible coursework (meeting the requirements in Meet & Confer), may be compensated and the rate will be determined by the Governing Board (for 2013-14 the rate is $80 per credit hour, paid at the hourly rate of $0.04 per hour/$0.12 for a typical 3credit class.)

5 All coursework must be completed and submitted through iVisions by February 15 th, 2014 to be eligible for possible compensation in the 2014-2015 school year. All future decisions regarding compensation are determined annually by the Governing Board and based on availability of funds.

6 University/ College Course Complete Course Scan Transcript Once course is completed, add completed coursework and attach transcript through iVisions District Courses* Sign up using Schoolnet Complete course; print and scan Schoolnet transcript *Course taken during off contract time Once course is completed, add completed coursework record and attach transcript through iVisions Non-District Courses Complete course print and scan certificate (*15 contact hours are required for 1 credit.) 9 Based on the course type you select, certain fields become mandatory – indicated by the red arrows. When finished, click OK to submit.

10 Again, based on the course type you select, certain fields become mandatory – indicated by the red arrows. You will not be able to submit (click Ok) unless you attach your transcript/ certificate of completion. When finished, click OK to submit.

11 In order to maintain market equity and competitiveness while promoting continuing education, there are caps for the amount you can increase your salary for education credits For those who do not have Bachelors degree, the amount is capped at the amount awarded to someone who does have a BA degree: $2,200 or 27 college/university credits

12 For those who have a BA degree but dont have a MA degree, the amount is capped at the amount awarded for an MA degree: $3,000 or 37 credits total Eligible Kyrene courses are never capped

13 Eligibility: Must be employed for at least 1 year in an eligible position Eligible positions are term-certain positions like Bus Driver, Instructional Assistant, Attendance Clerk Positions not eligible include Kids Club Leader, Crossing Guard, Lunch Duty Supervisor

14 If there is unused budgeted money remaining at the end of the fiscal year, eligible employees may receive up to an additional $1,000 on a 1 st come 1 st serve basis. Tuition Reimbursement Facts:

15 After you complete a class: You have 30 days from the date completed to submit a completed course reporting form along with an original paid receipt and grade slip or transcript to Human Resource Services Before you take a class: Pre-Approval IS always required and must be submitted by February 15 th in the year prior to taking the class You basically submit all the classes you want to take a full year ahead of time Find forms online on the HR website: Kyrene School District -> Departments-> Human Resource Services-> Education Support Professionals (ESP), then click on Employee Salary Credit/Tuition Reimbursement

16 The short answer is yes, you can participate in both education salary credit and tuition reimbursement in the same year You can not use the same course for both options For example: you take 6 classes per year. You max out on tuition reimbursement after 2 classes, the next 4 classes can be submitted for salary credit
