2. Summary
First was the reaping. Then Katniss and Peeta went to the capital. Then they went into the arena. They started in a circle around the cornucopia that had weapons and survival stuff like sleeping bags, food, and water tablets that clean the water. Then a rule changes and Katniss tries to find Peeta. They try to stay alive together after she finds him.
Katniss grabbed a sleeping bag, water tablets, 1 knife, and some food, at the cornucopia.

3. Setting Where did it happen? How about when??
First they’re at district 12
Then they go to the capital
The last one is the arena
It is supposedly in the future because the genre is science fiction.
In district 12 Gale and Katniss sneaked into the woods to hunt, on the day of the reaping.

4. Main Characters Katniss Everdeen Peeta Mellark Gale Hawthorne
Haymitch Abernathy
She is the main character accompanied by Peeta.
He gets introduced when they go to the arena.
He’s mainly at the beginning before Katniss goes to the arena.
He is Katniss’s and Peeta’s adviser during the arena, he also can send supplies to them in the arena.
A few more minor characters are Effie Trinket, Prim Everdeen, and Katniss’s mom.

5. The reaping is where 1 boy and 1 girl from each district are randomly selected to compete in the Hunger Games to fight until there is only one survivor. The people selected in district 12 was Peeta Mellark and Prim Everdeen, but her sister Katniss volunteered instead of her little sister.

The reaping happens in every district. In district 12, Effie Trinket picks the names.

6. The Arena
That year the arena was desert and forest area, with a lake supplied by a stream. They start in a semicircle around the cornucopia. If they step off their platform before 1 minute then landmines blow their legs off.
The gamemakers can add science experiments gone wrong into the arena as well.

This series was in my top 5 favorite books that I have ever read, I think you should read it, too.
