I feel as if the best answers out of the four theories is the Retreatism theory. I believe this because there was no goal he wanted by doing this besides of a mental want to kill Chris Kyle. His thought process was skewed from what his life was like. Even in my quote it just shows A sick way of thinking. That something so little that Chris Kyle said could set him off.

Kyle texted Littlefield while they were in the car with Routh, writing "This dude is straight up nuts."
Routh took Kyles truck and crashed it after the shooting.
