The Seat Carry
2
A The rescuers face each other
A The rescuers face each other. Each rescuer grasps his own right forearm just above the wrist. The rescuers then grasp each other’s left forearm just above the wrist, forming a square “seat.”
3
B The rescuers lower the “seat” that they have just formed, allowing the patient to sit on the seat with arms across the shoulders of each rescuer. When ready to lift, the rescuers need to communicate clearly with each other so that they can stand as one and carry the patient to safety. JPR 16-2B
