WHY NOW? Why is now a good time to implement health information technology and health information exchange? What is different today than yesterday?

CHALLENGES The vision is clear if the path is not: “Health information will be available at the point of care for patients, with electronic health records and decision support systems for evidence based medicine deployed in all medical care settings in the state.” What issues will be most challenging on the way to this goal?
