How does this Model work
How does this Model work? CCSS The Common Core State Standards Initiative is an educational initiative in the United States that details what K–12 students should know in English language arts and mathematics at the end of each grade.
13
Teach-Assess-Reteach-Reassess Model
FM: Fully Met PM: Partially met NM: Not Met
14
FM / PM / NM FM – 75% and above PM – 26% to 74% NM – 0 to 25%
15
For Example – a question has 10 marks
FM – 8, 9, 10 PM – 4, 5, 6, 7 NM – 0, 1, 2, 3

Assessment Students took a screening test (English/ Math)at the beginning of the year (1st week of school). These results are starting points as well as fair indicators to gauge student previous knowledge and provides a sneak peek into their strengths and weaknesses. Formative assessments are conducted on weekly basis during the regular classes. It is for teachers to assess the knowledge learned by the students and identify weakness for timely support The marks of FA (English/Math) are recorded and tracked on the Student Feedback form in the student Portfolio/Diary of a Math kid and in the teacher tracker in the Teacher binder. Please expect the Student Portfolios after every lesson is completed. Kindly peruse through the feed back forms to track your child’s progress. When the portfolio is sent home it is mentioned in the weekly homework plan.
17
Assessments Students on NM status will be retaught and reassessed. If the child is on NM even after the Reteach, parent meeting will be arranged. Summative assessments will be conducted at the end of each semester. No re-test will be conducted in case of absence.

Using MAP data in the Classrooms: The scores assess students understanding of the CCSS/Michigan standards taught in class. How well he/she applies this knowledge in the test The RIT scores allows teachers to make informed decisions on their teaching needs in class. The students get differentiated or tailor made instructions depending on their need for growth. RIT scores will lead to Seating Plans in the classrooms
