THE STAR

With a Ring network the computers are connected in a circle and information only flows in one way

4. The Bus
THE BUS
With a Bus network the computers are connected to a centre ‘trunk’ cable so it looks like bus stops on a main route

6. How to choose
Consider the practical advantages and disadvantages of each
The physical & logical set up of a company should be considered
E.g. how many offices, locations etc
How is the company organissed, peoples positions, critical access etc
In most real life set ups a mixed network is chosen
