Amplitude Amplitude- Distance of a wave above and below the normal level Amplitude of a transverse wave is about ½ the distance between the crest and trough Related to the energy the wave carries EX: Tsunami has large amounts of energy with a lot of amplitude

Wavelength Wavelength- (Transverse) Distance from the top of one crest to the top of the next or from trough to trough Wavelength- (Compression) Distance from center of one compression and center of the next compression or from rarefaction to rarefaction

Frequency Frequency- Number of wave lengths that pass a given point in 1 second (Hz or Hertz) As frequency increases, wavelength decreases
