Daily Routines in Y6 8.45- Early work- Response time 8.55-Register
Maths (Miss Whitehead) Playtime- healthy snacks only to be kept in lockers. English (Mr. Aspinall) Our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Lynch, Ms Blair, Mrs Aziz. Mrs Blakely- further Maths support Lunchtime Assistant – Mrs. Cropper Mrs McDonough (From Spring Term) – Tuesday – Monday and Thursday pm (booster/1:1 support) -

Timetable PE – Wednesday afternoon
Dance – Thursday morning (Autumn Term only) Forest School – Thursday PM, alternate weeks. (Autumn Term only) Swimming - Summer Term, after the Easter holiday on a Monday Kingswood – Summer Term (first week after Easter)

Homework Children have been given homework folders.
Maths and English goes home every Friday. Homework to be handed in by Thursday. Range of worksheets/ activities/ website activities/ open ended projects. Check Class Dojo for updates Spellings given on a Friday for a test the following Friday.

Reading Journals Please encourage children to read daily at home.
Unless they are on the reading scheme still then children should be reading for pleasure and not find their book too difficult. Record their reading in their journal. School records are electronic, however important conversations about reading will continue to take place in the reading journals.

Student Planners Please encourage children to take ownership of their learning. Children’s responsibility to keep these up-to-date. Record of any new learning/revision. Record of additional homework, reminders, timetable changes etc. Opportunity for additional communication between home and school if necessary.

Supporting children further at home…
Spelling lists – Reading – read for pleasure. Maths Frame – Times tables- need a good knowledge in order to cope with Y6 Maths. Children should be encouraged to keep checking school website and Class Dojo…regularly updated with homework and activities relating to current learning. Children work very hard in school- they will need lots of time to relax at home this year – please encourage outdoor activities and time for hobbies.

Tests Teacher assessments + SATs papers
SATs- 3 Maths papers: 1 arithmetic, 2 ‘reasoning’ 1 Reading paper- 3 texts. 1 spelling, punctuation and grammar paper. Revision books will be given out and available to purchase in Spring Term. Please avoid using resources from CPG and from the DfE website when supporting at home.
