Figure 1 Differential effect of p38 MAP kinase in different lymphocyte subpopulations. Naı̈ve T cells (peripheral blood lymphocyte population) were stimulated with CD3/CD28 for 24 hours in presence or absence of 10 μmol of the p38 MAP kinase inhibitor SB and TNF production was determined using ELISA (left panel). Th1 cells were obtained by coculturing naı̈ve T cells with polarized type I dendritic cells for 5 days. Subsequently cells were stimulated with CD3/CD28 for 24 hours in presence or absence of 10 μmol of the p38 MAP kinase inhibitor SB and TNF production (middle panel) and IL-10 production (right panel) was determined using ELISA.
