4 GTAC Accomplishments Formed the GTAC Transportation Subcommittee
ADOT&PF executive team has held its first TTP 101 with Brian Allen in January. Commissioner Luiken sent a letter to Stuart Hartford of the BIA March 6th “authorizes Alaska’s Federally recognized Tribes to incorporate the DOT&PF facilities into the BIA NTTFI database, according to the process outlined in 25 CFR 170.”

5 GTAC Work For This Year GTAC Transportation Subcommittee Charter…on agenda for Wednesday, March 21st. Subcommittee has been working with State of Alaska staff (DOT&PF and DNR)  on wording, responsibilities, and defining obligations regarding Tribes desire to maintain proposed routes as required regulations.  Of course the deadline has now been extended until 2019, but we will continue to work on language that both the State and Tribes are comfortable with the State posting publically, thus satisfying the CFR requirements.

6 GTAC Work For This Year Continued
Possibility of Tribes performing airport maintenance in villages across our state and the use of DOT/FAA equipment.  Identifying potential pilot projects between State of Alaska DOT&PF and/or DNR and Tribes.   While we understand that this is not entirely new, as there has been partnerships in the past, we look to highlight some current projects and the ways we can have a more equal, mutual beneficial agreements.    Create a template Memorandum of Agreement between ADOT&PF and Tribes for construction projects.
