Why change? High demand times were problematic Design 10 yrs old, continually adding links Mobile friendly – NO! Code was challenging to maintain Recurring security checks difficult pass and intensive to remediate Landing page was a link farm Was not Handling load/peak volume times well Was dated in design, not able to grow and be Tailored to specific students Was not Mobile first Was not easy to maintain when changes were requested Was not Passing security checks easily Was a link farm, look and feel very dated, 1/3/2019 UTFAB SIS Fall 2016 Presentation

RAMweb today Student input utilized in redesign Meets peak volume demands Mobile first! Most used information on landing page Security standards improved Opportunities for student specific presentation A great leap forward for us. The design was taken from voter feedback in the ASCSU elections application meets demand during high volume times. Much of the application is mobile friendly. Most used/needed information on landing page Meets security checks The code structure is more current tools and methods, easier to maintain, distributed maintenance, Allows us to tailor to specific students more easily ---standard, new students, grad, SaS, athlete, into, etc… Thank students and Terri’s team again. 1/3/2019 UTFAB SIS Fall 2016 Presentation

Platform Migration Complete technology change Operating System, hardware, software Moved ARIES/Banner databases to Linux Provides ability to dynamically adjust memory and CPU capacity as required Implemented advanced and aggressive tools to improve monitoring and predictive analysis capabilities Next, another great step forward. There were very big changes on the backend to ensure SIS stability and performance on the peak volume days. These changes directly affect RAMweb. Spot trends and adjust before problems occur Planning, Timing, coordination, testing and communication are required for a big effort such as this. 1/3/2019 UTFAB SIS Fall 2016 Presentation
