2. Individual activity – research specialization- Instructions
At this point in the development of your research (after having reviewed 3 sources), you should begin getting a clearer idea of how you want to focus your research topic
Consider what questions you have about the topic that are still unanswered after reading the articles off the source list
Find a colloquial news source on your topic that will give more information about your selected topic
Recommended sites: New York Times, CNN, Huffington Post, Daily Mail, BBC, etc.
Read the source carefully then summarize and reflect on the source in your blog entry 6

3. Blog entry 6 Blog Entry 6 Focus: Source 4 Summary
Find a read a news source on your selected topic to further your understanding of the issue you are investigating. Post the link to the source in your blog entry and make sure to include it in your Working Bibliography/Research Log
Read and analyze the source. Then sum up the argument it makes in the journal entry and describe its reliability, credibility, angle of vision, and degree of advocacy.
Finally, reflect on how the source has changed your understanding of the research topic and what information could be useful to you in writing your synthesis essay
You do not need to introduce the issue or explain your viewpoint or past experiences here, simply focus on the source itself

4. Homework Bring laptops/tablets to class on Monday if able
Finish and post Blog entry 6 by Sunday night
Be prepared to report on a summary of your total research findings in Monday’s class
