3 See the next slide for a graphical solution to c and d.

4 First, find 10 mL on the volume graph
First, find 10 mL on the volume graph. Follow it up to the line for Substance A. Next, move horizontally to the mass axis. The mass of 10 mL of substance A will be about 12.5 grams. Since the pans will balance if they have the same mass on them, it follows that 12.5 grams of substance B is required.

5 First, find 35 mL on the volume graph
First, find 35 mL on the volume graph. Follow it up to the line for Substance B. Next, move horizontally to the mass axis. The mass of 35 mL of substance B will be about 13 grams. Last, find the spot on Substance A’s line where mass is 13 grams. Look down to the Volume axis to find the volume of 13 grams of substance A. Since the pans will balance if they have the same mass on them, the mass of 35 mL of B is 13 g. About 10mL of Substance A will have a mass of 13 g.

7 Since the diameter is 2r, the wire’s diameter is 0.205 cm
Where “h” is L, the length of the wire & V = cm3 cm3 cm2 cm2 cm V = cm3 Since the diameter is 2r, the wire’s diameter is cm
