A Systems Model for Transformation of Individuals, Institutions, and the Geoscience Community
InTegrate builds on Cutting Edge and Building Strong Departments. It works at faculty/course scale and at the department/program scale. Both efforts are supported by professional development workshops and a website. Most of the activity in the first year has been on materials development and professional development. A year from now there will be small grants for program development.

Workshop Focus If we are to most effectively
Educate the needed workforce Prepare 100% of students for suitable employment What do our students need to know and be able to do when they graduate? What attitudes, other attributes, and products do they need to be successful? What models do we have or can we imagine for getting there?

Workshop Outputs 30 individuals armed to enhance their own programming
Collection of program descriptions linked with information on employment pathways, learning outcomes, and design strategies for moving alumni to work Summary of lessons learned at workshop including learning outcomes linked to work competencies, strategic ideas on design and recommendations for community scale actions Reference and resource collection addressing linkages between geoscience education and workforce Leadership group bridging academic and employment communities with new understanding of broad workforce/education linkages and follow on activities of their own design Plan
