6. Why the Outside Genre Reading?
Students have the opportunity to practice the reading skills and strategies we teach in class.
Students practice reading all the genres available.
Yes, this really is doable!
(Goal is approximately 1 book per week)

7. Workshop Models Students have some time to read and write in class.
Students keep a notebook to reflect on their reading (Reader’s-Writer’s Notebook).
Students have some choice in what they read and the topics they write about.
Students conference with us about what they are reading and writing.
