Allele-specific protein-DNA interactions of rs (XIRP2). Only the probe containing the minor (Mi; risk) allele shows allele-specific protein binding (lane 10, arrow c) compared with the major (Ma) allele (lane 3). Unlabeled minor allele probes efficiently competed with labeled minor allele probes (lanes 13 and 14) in contrast to the major allele (lanes 11 and 12) or SP1 (lanes 15 and 16).
