6 Fall Drop / Add Deadline: Wednesday, August 15
Seniors have overall priority in schedule changes. After seniors, students will have priority in descending order of class rank (i.e., juniors, sophomores, and freshmen)

All students will take semester exams December December 21 is a make-up exam day. Students will not have to attend on this date unless they have a missed test to make-up. Please plan now for your students to be in school on these dates.

13 Senior Debt List: Very Important!
All seniors must clear the MHS debt list prior to graduation ceremony. Various Incentive dates will be publicized throughout the year give seniors the chance for excused days and to clear their debts prior to graduation

MHS Policies Changes: Bell Schedule

15 New MHS Bell Schedule Morning portion of the schedule remains the same: first warning bell is 7:55 a.m., and tardy bell for first period is 8 a.m. Class period times for periods one through four remain the same. Lunch periods have been extended to 30 minutes. Wednesday homeroom day has been eliminated. Bell schedule is the same, Mondays through Fridays. “Advisory” period will be held each day following “B” lunch. Afternoon classes are now 45 minutes each. WATC students have the same schedule (“A” lunch and bus leaves at 11:35 a.m.) Pep rally and other special event schedules have been adjusted (see handbook)

16 Semester Exams Exemption Changes
Fall Semester: All students take semester exams (no exemptions granted). Spring Semester: Exemption policy remains the same as in previous years; students can earn exemption from spring semester finals. Weighting of final exams have been reduced from 20% to 10%. Semesters have been formally divided into nine weeks grading periods. Students will receive report cards for first, second, third, and fourth nine weeks grading periods. Grades start over at the conclusion of the previous nine weeks. Nine weeks grades are valued at 45% of the semester average (2 nine weeks per semester). The semester average final grade (which appears on the students’ transcripts, is derived by 45% for first nine weeks, 45% for second nine weeks, and 10% for the semester exam equaling 100% of the semester average. This formula is repeated for the second semester.

17 MHS Drop-off and Pick-up
Campus parking is restricted on school days from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each lot is marked accordingly. Students must register their vehicles and park in the assigned lots. Drop-off and pick-up is not permitted behind MHS both before and after school. Parents are not permitted to park next to or behind the gym area to pick-up students. This policy exists for student pedestrian safety as well as to accommodate school bus traffic.
