17. Table talk "If my neighbor, close friend or family member knew that I had been reading and listening to a 12 week study of the Book of Ephesians, what would they be expecting to be true in my life?"

18. How is Ephesians unique?
1.-This is a “prison letter” from Rome. “Though Paul’s body was in the dungeon, his heart, mind, and spirit were in the heavens.”
2.-This is not a personal letter nor does it deal with personal matters.
3.-This is not a “problem-solving letter.”
4.-This is not a teaching letter but a reminder.
5.-This is no “need-meeting” letter, nor does it tell us how to be successful or effective.

19. How Ephesians is unique-part 2
6.-There is no preaching/teaching but praising for who God is and what He has done in Christ and through the gospel.
7.-This is the “Waterloo” of Bible commentaries. “It is greater than the minds of those who have studied it.”-E.J. Goodspeed
8.-This is the “high road” of N.T. revelation, changing our perspective from being a citizen of this world to that of a citizen of heaven.

20. Why Ephesian is unique-part 3
9.-This letter seeks to change our orientation from being man-centered to God-centered.
10.-To sum up the essence of the contribution of Ephesians, this letter draws attention to the glory of God. “Every supreme goal of our every action is the glory of God.” I Cor. 10:31

Ephesians touches on many of our life issues.  Which ones were addressed in your life and how has your life changed as a result?  Your prayer life, speech, attitude toward other people, marriage, child raising, job, handling anger, unleashing the power of God’s Spirit in your life, or dealing with satanic opposition? Please share some of these with one another. Be sure everyone has a chance to share.
