How many are presently certified? All others are certifiable!! How many are certifiable this year? Next year? Where are our members currently taking the preparation for certification? What are we doing to raise awareness of the importance of being certified? How are we currently marketing certification and educational events? What chapters in our state are doing a super job with certification? Let’s contact them! Etc.

Important to know new certification eligibility so you can educate and inform your members. Expanded eligibility for SHRM certifications! No distinction between exempt and non exempt; gives more credit for HR education; 1,000 hours qualifies for a year;

A Learning System Champion is a chapter that promotes SHRM Certification to their members 120+ Chapters were awarded 2014 Learning System Champion status last year 135 Chapters have earned 2015 Learning System Champion Status Recognition for your Chapter

18 State Council/Chapter Incentive Program
State Councils will earn $10 for every SHRM National member in the state who is SHRM certified on December 31, 2015 Chapters will earn $20 for every SHRM National member in the chapter who is SHRM certified on December 31, 2015 Incentive program will continue in 2016 Payments will be made in January 2016 and January 2017 This Incentive Program aligns SHRM and its affiliates, encourages participation in the SHRM certification program, and compensates State Councils/Chapters for any revenue loss associated with decline in recertification activity related to the legacy certifications.

How can you “take it up a notch in 2016?” What are some goals – just dreaming! Is my Board or Council committed to Certification? What can I do? Benchmarking with other chapters of our size across the nation – talk to Regional Manager How can we reach members at large? Can we commit some of our money from the certification incentive program to help with certification? Scholarships? Sponsored? Virtual study group? Thoughts from the group!
