DRIVER WELLNESS THE PURPOSE OF THE DRIVER WELLNESS TRAINING IS TO PROVIDE HEALTH AND WELLNESS INFORMAITON TO THE DRIVER SO THE DRIVER CAN MAKE INFORMED LIFESTYLE CHOICES.

Smoking and tobacco use Overweight/Obesity Hypertension / High Blood Pressure Cardiovascular disease Poor Nutrition Alcohol, drugs, other chemical substances Lack of exercise Sleep Disorders (apnea, insomnia, and others) Stress and Anxiety

Alertness, drowsy driving, driver fatigue Stress distraction driving Heart attack while driving Likelihood of diabetic crisis while driver Increase chance of injuries; e.g. slips, trips, & falls

MAINTAINING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
HEALTHY CHOLESTEROL, BLOOD PRESSURE, WEIGHT & STRESS MANAGEMENT Eat healthy – fruits, vegetables, lean meats. *DRINK WATER* Exercise Regularly – 30 minutes of physical activity (split between 2 periods of 15 minutes) Avoid excessive alcohol use

SLEEP APNEA & HEALTH MONITORING
SLEEP DISORDERS – Sleep tests may be required to determine the presence of a sleep disorder. Apnea – airflow ceases for more than 10 seconds Hypopnea – airflow decreases for more than 10 second Mild – 5 or more episodes per hour Moderate – 15 or more episodes per hour Severe – 30 or more episodes per hour HEALTH MONITORING – Regular doctor visits in addition to required DOT physicals JM Bozeman Health Insurance Plan allows for 1 free wellness exam each year.
