Welcome to Longwood News. YOUR school newspaper! Your newspaper team is George Sime, Jacob Nutter, Maisy May Gee, Ben Ward, William Tonks and Daniel Croome . This issue is full of news, pictures and jokes. We hope you enjoy it! Forest school Forest school is a newly started class that Mr Puckey runs and it takes place most afternoons. This half term it involves years 4/5, which are taken out in groups of about five once a week. It is done in all weathers, and everyone so far has enjoyed it, it features tree climbing, making dens and much more. Forest school was made to try and help everyone go outside in all weathers and not be stuck inside all day. Jacob Nutter, School News. Last weeks answer: he fell off the bottom step Book Review The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is an exceptional book for all ages that also teaches younger souls about history and WW2. I would really recommend this book to all. That is why this book is getting and impressing I was given the chance to speak to Year 6 class teacher Mr. McNamee about his favourite subjects; history and PE: Q1: Why are these your favourite subjects? A1: I love history because I love to find out about the past and PE because I love to keep fit. Q2: What is your favourite sub-category of each? A2: My favourite sub-category of history is WW2 and of PE it is football. Q3: How did you first get into these subjects? 2 ATTACK OF THE WIND: UK WORLD NEWS
INTO THE STORM Sometime in the near future, in a small district called Plankerton, there lived a small boy called Oliver who was asleep. But not for long, the storm was coming. ZAP! A lightning bolt hit the phone lines so they didn’t know that the deadly part of the storm was arriving and he nor his parents knew. He was awoken by a loud GRRR noise and to his horror there was a huge hoard of monsters approaching outside of his window. Outside there was intense rain and rapid fire lightning strikes hitting the ground followed by strong winds. He went to go to look for his parents. They weren’t there. No one was there. Young Ollie was alone in a house surrounded by monsters. BANG! Ollie ran down stairs. They were here. Monsters. He prayed… By George Sime Part two coming soon! ATTACK OF THE WIND: UK WORLD NEWS Strong winds are once again set to batter Britain, after two people were killed by the hugely strong gusts. A weather report system has warned parts of the British Isles that heavy winds and possible floods are going to hit certain areas across Great Britain. The Met Office have said this storm shall be named Storm Ali and that many injuries will occur and many lives at risk. The storms are so severe that they have killed many people including a family, a mother, son and dog. Reported by Daniel Croome Make sure to be careful outside!
