Financial Update (Steve):
Discussion around Total Liabilities & Equity rate as it has fallen below target:
Steve reviewed the net received for events in 2015, 2016, and and 2017 were very similar with 2016 earning a higher amount due to the Jeff Liker Leadership Session.
Action items:
Steve & Julie to generate a 3 – 5 year scenario
Julie to ask Kim to add a 2015 comparison column to the P&L
Julie to generate gross numbers for 2015 – 2017 events
Old Business:
One Pager Doc Update: No real update as Julie has not heard back from Andy. She has left several voic s and s. She will continue reaching out to him and will provide an update as soon as possible.
VP of Finance Transition: Steve has been added to NWHPEC’s bank accounts at Selco. We still need to move the funds from B of A to Selco and will continue to work with Mike Funke to make that happen. Action item: Steve: Think about the appropriate financial controls to put in place.
Executive Director Search Update: A job description and posting has been created. Interested candidates have requested a copy of the posting and will respond with their application directly to Julie. The Board discussed the sub-committee following a process to select the candidate and then present that candidate to the full Board for nomination and approval. Steve will check with Xenium regarding a salary policy.
Event Updates (Julie):
Learning Tours: Milwaukee Electronics Learning Tour is scheduled for Nov. 14th. Update: Milwaukee Electronics is considering canceling this event due to production demands. Julie is encouraging them to reschedule into December if that timeframe will work better for them.
Training Classes: Axiom Electronics hosted the Intro to Lean class on Oct. 3rd and Oct. 4th. Both classes filled up with 20 attendees each and earned revenue. Biamp will host a VSM on Nov. 28th & 29th. Julie will announce on Oct. 30th.
Leadership Session: Part I of the Fall Leadership Series: Gary Peterson lead the Oct. 25th Leadership Session to excellent reviews. Part II is scheduled for Nov. 15th facilitated by Scott Simmons and Part III STP is scheduled for Dec. 13th.
Kata Practitioner Day: Biamp is hosting the online KPD on Nov. 16th.
New Business:
Montgomery Park 2018 and on: Montgomery Park has informed Julie NWHPEC will no longer have access to their Banquet Room due to parking constraints. Julie is looking at options, including Nike’s EDO room, Daimler, and local hotels with ballrooms. Pricing and parking are key factors, as well as ease of location for access.
Future Leadership Session Speakers: Julie has the action to create a list of future Leadership Session speakers including how the connect to our one-pager graphic and fee (if available).
Next Board Meeting:
