What was a Petty Apartheid?
The practice of segregation in the routine of daily life Streams of laws introduced during 1950s It involves segregation of public facilities, transport, education, and etc. Most common and simple accusations Focused on everyday life Personal lives affected

Better opportunities for whites To discourage other races To disadvantage other races To underpay workforce

Some Petty Apartheid laws
Population Registration Act Proposed in 1950 required that each inhabitant of South Africa be classified and registered in accordance with his or her racial characteristics as part of the system of apartheid. Immorality Amendment Act amended the 1927 act to forbid unmarried sexual intercourse between "Europeans" and anyone not "European” The prohibition was therefore extended to intercourse between white people and coloured or Asian people.

Reservation of Separate Amenities Act
Bantu Education Act Proposed in 1953 was a South African segregation law which legalised several aspects of the apartheid system Its major provision was enforcing racially separated educational facilities Reservation of Separate Amenities Act formed part of the apartheid system of racial segregation in South Africa. The Act legalized the racial segregation of public premises, vehicles and services.

What was a Grand Apartheid?
refers to the underlying limitations placed on black South Africans' access to land and political rights. Denied political representation, even citizenship limited the personal freedom of all South African blacks prohibited them from any significant political voice in their Government a Government that controls nearly every facet of their existence.

Some Grand Apartheid laws
Bantustans or homelands set up for African Americans Proposed in 1949 established by the Apartheid Government, were areas to which the majority of the Blacks population was moved to prevent them from living in the urban areas of South Africa Bantu Authorities Act Proposed in 1951 It "was an attempt to restructure the government of the reserves on more traditional lines, but in practice came to mean the establishment of a system of indirect rule through the medium of subservient and sometimes well-rewarded chiefs, chosen for their preparedness to enforce government policy at the expense of their own popularity"

Prevention of Illegal Squatting Act
It was commenced on 6 July 1951 formed part of the apartheid system of racial segregation in South Africa. This act authorized the forcible removal of squatting communities It allowed eviction and destruction of homes of squatters by landowners, local authorities and government officials Group Areas Act of 1951 was created by the apartheid government of South Africa and assigned racial groups to different residential and business sections in urban areas An effect of the law was to prevent nonwhites from living in the most developed areas.
