1. Welcome Back!
English 2 and English 4

2. Daily Routine
Look at the white board next to the door upon entering the room.
Follow the direction on that white board.
Hang out until the bell rings.
Find your seat immediately after the bell rings.

3. Hall Passes
You will have 8 hall passes this semester.
Please don’t abuse this privilege.

4. Cartoon Vocabulary – English 4
We will not be doing Cartoon Vocabulary this semester.
Too much trouble for too little reward.

5. New Late Work Policy
There is no penalty for late work up to one week after the due date. You cannot receive more that 50% after that.
This policy is for unexcused absences.

6. No Cell Phones
Please keep your phones away unless given direct permission to access them. 
It is not personal. I just want you to be as successful in the class as possible.

7. New Method for Grading HW and Classwork
I will no longer put every assignment in the gradebook. As much as I want to reward all of your efforts, grading everything is unsustainable and impractical.
New Method:
I will select which assignments are graded. 
You will not know which assignments are going to be graded.
All of the assignments that I choose will be graded for quality.

8. Devil Dollars Part 1 – 4th period
I've decided to try a new system for awarding Devil Dollars Based on behavior. 
During class I will make note of students who are not engaged, such as students being on a phone, sleeping, causing disruptions, not doing the work, etc. 
If by the end of a full week you have NO MORE THAN 2 strikes against you, you will receive a Devil Dollar on the following Monday. 

9. Devil Dollars Part 2 – 4th period
At each progress report you will be awarded the following number of Devil Dollars for each letter grade:
A = 6 Devil Dollars
B = 4 Devil Dollars
C = 2 Devil Dollars
