3 WHAT IS ECOLOGY? (Our first unit)
S7L4. Students will examine the dependence of organisms on one another and their environments. a. Demonstrate in a food web that matter is transferred from one organism to another and can recycle between organisms and their environments. b. Explain in a food web that sunlight is the source of energy and that this energy moves from organism to organism. c. Recognize that changes in environmental conditions can affect the survival of both individuals and entire species. d. Categorize relationships between organisms that are competitive or mutually beneficial.

First…everything you need to know for this can be found in your text book (add Biome): Chapter 18; section 1 Vocabulary Terms: Take a piece of paper, fold it in half ‘lengthwise’. Mark off 6, approximately 2 inch sections from one side. Cut into the 6 sections. Colored Pencils Only-no sharpies Front page of your flip book: Write the Vocab word 30 points 4. Inside the front page: Illustrate the term. Have fun and be creative! 30 points 5. Inside the back page: Explain the term (in your own words, complete, grammatically correct sentences). Also, include examples of each definition. 40 points
