BRIDGE Bill- what is it? HB 400 Building Resourceful Individuals to Develop Georgias Economy Impacts middle and high school

BRIDGE Bill Impact on Middle School: Students in grades 6-7-8 will be provided advisement to assist them in evaluating their academic skills and career interests. Prior to the end of grade 8- students will develop an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) in consultation with parents or appointed guardians.

BRIDGE Bill Career Exploration curriculum will be delivered through a web-based program called Career Cruising. Career Cruising includes an interest inventory, skills inventory, and a learning styles inventory which help students identify potential career pathways.

BRIDGE Bill Career Matchmaker As part of high school registration in the spring, eighth graders will be required to select a career pathway. The Career Matchmaker results can be used to guide students and parents in making career pathway choices.

BRIDGE Bill – Graduation Requirements As of now, these are the requirements in order for your student to graduate high school in 2016. (Reminder, requirements are subject to change) Graduation Requirements Math 4 credits Science 4 credits English 4 credits Social Studies 3 credits Health & Personal Fitness 1 credit Electives 4 credits Pathway - 3 credits in one of the following areas: Foreign Language, Fine Arts, Career/Tech. Total - 23 credits
