Business Cycle: Superhero or Villain?

The Task The expansion/recovery stage of the business cycle is the basis for the superhero. The contraction/recession phase is the basis for the nemesis. Task: Highlight key elements of the business cycle through a creation of a metaphorical superhero or his/her nemesis.

Our yellow sun is the source of his power. Nemesis (Villain) Name: General Zod Powers: same as Superman Weakness: his arrogance, Kryptonite Nemesis: Superman Alias: Dru-Zod Job: Kryptonian General Family: Catchphrase: “Kneel before Zod” History – in charge of military forces on Krypton, banished to phantom zone by Jorel

Directions 1. Complete your profile. Use 5 of the 7 vocabulary words GDP, Inflation, CPI, Unemployment Rate, Recession, Contraction, and Expansion in your profile. 2. Create your superhero/nemesis – be creative! Try to think of something no one else will think of. Give them a costume, name, etc. 3. Draw out a picture of the superhero/nemesis. 4. Write the profile on the paper – similar to an anatomy chart 5. Profiles should be clever, humorous, and content-based. 6. Work in groups of 2-3. Websites to help….
