But to have this assurance, we should STUDY & APPLY WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS about God’s will concerning our prayers.

3. What is Prayer?
Prayer is man’s way of making requests and giving thanks to God.
Jesus taught His disciples how to pray (Matt. 6:5-13).
Prayer is the means of coming “to the throne of grace” (Heb. 4:16).

4. What is Prayer?
Prayer is always proper on any occasion & for every need.
We are to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17; Col. 4:2).
Prayer was common to early NT Christians (Acts 1:14, 24; 2:42; 6:4, 6; 10:9; 12:5; 14:23; 16:13, 25; 20:36; 21:5).

5. Will God Answer our Prayer?
The Bible teaches us to have confidence God hears & answers prayer (1 Jn. 5:13-15).
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3:12 (NKJV)
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16 (NKJV)

Ask (Matt. 7:7-11; Cf. Jas 1:17)
Speak as a righteous person (1 Pet. 3:12; Cf. Prov. 15:29; 28:9; Jn. 9:31; 1 Jn. 3:22)
Ask according to God’s will (1 Jn. 5:14-15; Cf. Matt. 26:39, 44; Jas. 4:3; Lk. 6:46)

7. Spiritual Laws of Acceptable Prayer
Speak in the name of Christ (Jn. 14:13-14; 15:16; Cf. 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 4:15-16)
Ask in faith (Jas 1:6-7)
Speak on definite things (Lk. 11:11-12; Cf. Jas 5:16-18)
Ask with a thankful heart (1 Thess. 5:17-18; Phil. 4:6-7)
