In 1765 Parliament passed taxes on all printed goods (newspapers, wills, playing cards, and pamphlets). It required a stamp on all paper products. These Taxes effected everyone in the colonies. It was a direct tax.

QUARTERING ACT 1765 THIS ACT REQUIRED COLONIST TO HOUSE BRITISH TROOPS IN THEIR HOMES BE GONE GET OUT OF OUR HOME HEY HEY YOU CAN NOT STAY IT RESULTED IN ANTI-BRITISH FEELINGS AND CAUSED THE COLONIST TO RESENT THE PRESENCE OF TROOPS. FIND SOME WHERE ELSE TO STAY
