About Ms. Hinshelwood -Graduated from Appalachian University I truly enjoy coming to school each day to work with students and to make sure my students reach their full potential. All students are capable of learning; however, not every student learns the same way. I plan my lessons using multiple teaching strategies so I can reach all learners. I look forward to working with you this year to make sure your child excels academically and socially.

About Our Class I spend time at the beginning of the year working to build a community in the classroom. We discuss respect, making good choices, and taking responsibility for our actions. By creating a positive classroom community, I feel for each student will thrive academically and socially. We also spend time practicing our daily procedures. I want the students to know exactly what is expected of them daily. Furthermore, I want the students to know what the consequences will be when they do not follow our class procedures.

Important “In addition to brains and books, there is another thing your children need to succeed in school: you, the parent. Parents play a large role in ensuring a child's academic success, according to the U.S. Department of Education. This means helping your child perform at her best, both physically and mentally. By emphasizing healthy choices and good study habits, you can help your child succeed in school.” Read with your child. Set up a study zone at home. Communicate with the teacher.
