Renewing Your Mind Until you get a glimpse of the glory of the Almighty God in His holiness and majesty that is so clearly displayed in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ, then you will continue to fall into the same superficial rut that you always have.

Romans 12:1–2 (ESV) I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Romans 12:1–2 (ESV) 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Renewing Your Mind 1. It is the character and work of God that is to propel Christians in their daily walk with Christ.

Renewing Your Mind For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. –Rom 8:7-8

Renewing Your Mind Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways! - Rom 11:33

Renewing Your Mind For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor?” 35 “Or who has given a gift to Him that he might be repaid. –Rom 11:34–35

Renewing Your Mind God owes us nothing. As soon as you start believing that God is obligated to be merciful to you then you have stopped talking about mercy.

Renewing Your Mind Until we understand who we are in comparison to God, that we are sinners before a holy God who has every right to punish us eternally in hell for our sins, then we will not live for Him in the way that we should. The mercy of God is so sweet for those who understand that they really do not deserve it.

Christians are to live lives of holiness.

Renewing Your Mind Even though I am a sinner, that does not alleviate me from the responsibility to strive for holiness, to live in conformity to the Word of God.

Renewing Your Mind When God speaks, we are to listen and obey. He will be glorified and honored in the way that He deserves. Anything less is treason.

Renewing Your Mind 2. We are only able to present our bodies as sacrifices to God when our minds have been renewed.

Renewing Your Mind We cannot be shocked that the church is making little impact when we look and act just like the world.

Renewing Your Mind You do not reach the world by being like the world but by being distinct from it.

Renewing Your Mind The renewing of our minds takes place when we are consistently reading and meditating upon the Bible.

Renewing Your Mind And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit Cor 3:18

If you want to be transformed, you must behold the glory of God.

Renewing Your Mind How do we behold the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ? By consistently reading and dwelling on the Word of God, which the Holy Spirit uses to renew our minds.
