Rollup long sleeves, tuck in shirt, remove sweater DO NOT TOUCH flame or hot objects Avoid sudden movements Be aware of surroundings

Fire Extinguisher Device Information 1. Pull pin
2. Remove hose and aim at bottom of fire 3. Squeeze lever and spray at bottom of fire Only use a fire extinguisher if needed to put out fire in front of an exit. Do not remain in the room after it has been sprayed. How to use a fire extinguisher

Fire Blanket Location of Device in Classroom
There are 2 fire blankets in the classroom: One is next to the fire extinguisher One is in the orange bag at the back of the classroom

Fire Blanket Device information:
1. Pull the fire blanket out of its container and stretch it out fully, making sure that it covers the size of the fire. 2. Should be used to contain small fires in classroom or to put out a fire on clothing. How to use a fire blanket

Splashes Wear safety goggles Avoid sudden movements
Avoid skin contact with corrosive chemicals Be aware of surroundings Keep equipment away from the edge of lab bench Keep test tubes in test tube rack Do not point test tube opening toward anyone.

Safety goggles Location in classroom
Each lab bench has a labeled drawer containing 4 pairs of safety goggles

Safety Goggles Device Information: Goggles must be worn over your eyes
during experiment set up, while performing the experiment, until the experiment is cleaned up.

Eyewash Station Location in the classroom
In the back of the classroom next to the fire blanket

Eyewash Station Device Information:
1. Immediately flush eyes for at least 15 minutes. 2. Keep the eyes open and rotate the eyeballs in all directions to remove contamination from around the eyes. How to use an eyewash station

Keep equipment away from the edge of lab bench Avoid sudden movements Be aware of surroundings

Location of device in classroom: The broken glass bucket is underneath the large lab bench at the front of the classroom

Device information: Place any broken, chipped or cracked glassware in the bucket (NOT in the garbage) Any sharp materials should be disposed of in the bucket This prevents others from cuts and injury
