College as a whole - £7.8M surplus for 16/17 Surplus for SSHP in 2016/17 = £1.2M 17/18 college had budgeted for £500K surplus, after planned additional investments. SSHP surplus projected as £220K Now likely to be a significant college deficit, as £5m short on fee income target SSHP £189K short of fee income target (99%), but up 3.5% from 16/17 fee income College looking at budget at the moment…. Emphasis on retention as well as recruitment – target of 10,500 FTE by Some way to go..

Portfolio Review and Annual Monitoring 2017-18 - first phase of Planning Round
Timetable: Documentation sent out late October – more emphasis on student experience, NSS scores etc Pre-meetings in early November. Data on Tableau. PR meetings in Depts / teams in early December Results/actions discussed at Exec 20 December Annual Programme Monitoring: 23 January College deadline. PR report signed off at Exec 31 Jan – actions fed into Strategic Plan Themes Embed /introduce new programmes agreed in 2015/16 and 2016/17 Continued consolidation of our offer eg. via shared modules, interdisciplinary programmes Enhance and market Degrees with Foundation Year Flagging of programmes relevant to internationalisation in SSHP/College. Consider how to improve/enhance interdisciplinary programmes
