ETS WG 24-25/92007 Point 11.2 of the agenda: ISCED fields and levels of education Discussion points Do you have comments on the results of the 2006 UOE data collection by certain detailed fields of education? Do you support the approach and the work programme on ISCED issues as agreed between UNESCO, OECD and Eurostat?

ETS WG 24-25/92007 ISCED detailed fields of education 25 countries sent in full or partial data set including FYROM Macedonia and Norway. Good coverage of ISCED 5A, but number of countries supplied fairly few details (FI, FR, GR, IT, LV, SI) ISCED 5B: often codes ‘n’ or ‘a’ but also some ‘m’s. ISCED 6: full data set reported from BE, CZ, DE, ES, HU, PT, SE and SK No continuation of pilot collection in 2007.

2) Tackling country-specific issues and quality assurance
ETS WG 24-25/92007 Co-operation on ISCED Coordinated effort UNESCO, OECD and Eurostat to look at ISCED issues over a 2-year period. 2) Tackling country-specific issues and quality assurance ISCED advisory group The countries to notify the advisory group of proposed changes and seek its advice prior to them being implemented Membership: representative from UNESCO/UIS, OECD and Eurostat (recognising that the ownership of ISCED rests with UNESCO)
