2 Literacy Majority of the illiterate people are adults, poor people, mostly from rural areas and mostly women. They will be given time to develop skills and to become confident in their reading and writing abilities. The module will be designed to help adults acquire basic skills that will enhance their quality of life.

3 Goals To Promote daily family literacy activities by parents sharing conversations with their child, reading together every day, and helping their child with writing To Increase the number of parents who visit the school or public library or check out resources from their school’s parent resource center. To increase the knowledge of parents about how to support their students in the school activities. Equipping teachers with knowledge to elicit improvement Provide opportunities for teachers to focus on alternative ideas of how to teach literacy using less traditional materials

4 Equal Rights Learning to read and write is a basic skill that everybody needs to acquire, Adults with low literacy have lower rates of participation in the labour force and lower earnings when they do have jobs,  They are less able to understand and use health information.  Literacy provides better employment prospects and gives a higher socio-economic status

5 Why access to literacy ? Literacy rate is one of the key indicators of the economic situation in a country Literacy leads to higher skills, Better standard of living, Higher working capacity in the labor force, Higher the income levels,

6 Objectives To provide functional literacy skills for illiterate adults
To develop basic reading and writing skills, To raise Qualified people for happier society, To raise human resources for the community, To improve the potential of the individual, To ensure their active participation in social life this skill, In addition to literacy, they will improve their basic living skills.

7 Why Literacy ? To establish Business and Development conduct related activities To comply with occupational health legislation and take work safety measures To learn more about occupational Safety and Worker Health Be sensitive to the environment and protect the environment Environmental Protection To solve problems encountered by learning Reading and Writing Problem solving

8 Trainer’s Responsibilities
Setting the initial mood of the group, Promote active learning Creating an effective climate for learning Motivate and encourage participation in the learning process Be accepting of comments and avoid getting defensive Make teaching and learning relevant

9 Trainers will Always treat the participants with respect,
Allow for limited discussions , Be available at the beginning of breaks and after class to answer individual participants questions. Will listen and understand learners Accept differences among learners, Engage students in setting goals and expectations, Be flexible, creative

10 Methods A variety of teaching methods will be used,
Adults will learn by participating, sharing experiences, asking questions Learn by doing, Reading- Writing Repeat information to reinforce

11 Teaching Methods Use student-centered approaches
Use effective technology (audience response, real examples) Consider team work, peer-to-peer exchange, Provide opportunities for reflection, Encourage critical thinking

12 Strategies We need every student to learn – not just a few,
We will use effective approach – get students actively thinking and learning, We will use class lectures different activities, smartboards and pictures, Assessments

13 Strategies Problem-based learning,
Student-centered instruction, (Adult learning/Adult education) Competency-based (outcomes-based) instruction, Open-ended questions and problems, Role-playing, Self-paced or cooperative (team) learning, Opportunity to practice – with feedback

14 Increase abilities Reading Test
Students determine the meaning of vocabulary in context. Students analyze word choice rhetorically. Writing Students improve context appropriateness of expression

15 Steps Short-term line work with adults. Upright -line studies
Common lines in the letters are given (vertical-circular). Following the line work, The letters will be given in sequence of steps, respectively.

16 They will be able to; Do line work. Differentiate sounds
Know the letters and read them correctly. Write the letter according to the directions of writing. Attention is drawn to the difference between small and capital letters. Read and write passages.

17 They will be able to; Read and writes the words.
Vocabulary reading and writing Read the words correctly-sounds-pronunciation, Correct syllable discrimination in reading studies. Read and writes meaningful sentences. Use Capital letters correctly The first letter of the word at the beginning of the sentence and the first letters of the special names will be highlighted as capital letters.

18 They will be able to; Read and write short texts.
Use punctuation marks; point, question, comma, and exclamation point correctly. Read written and visual content. Maps, warnings, health, safety signs, announcements, banners, product labels, and manuals needed for daily life.

19 Competences They will be able to gather information and data in the direction of learning needs -Data Acquisition , Generating Applicable Entrepreneur (Business) Ideas Producing Entrepreneur Ideas, Improve knowledge, skills and attitudes that adults will need for life and happy community
