Setting SMART Goal's

SPECIFIC Make sure the goal is need/want specific
Answers the who? What? When? Why? And How? Who else needs to be involved? What do I need to do to accomplish this? When do I want to accomplish this? Why am I doing this? How am I doing this?

Measureable How much effort, time, and ability will this take?
Establish criteria that measures progress toward the goal What accomplishments must I achieve to reach the final goal? How much? How Many? How will I know that I am still on task?

Attainable What resources do I need to get me to the finish line?
What do I need or what actions do I need to take? Be prepared to grow or mature Gain resources such as people, information, or knowledge Gain skills, attitudes, abilities or financial support to aid

Relevant Making the goal meaningful and worthwhile; valuable to you
Making a total commitment to ensure its possibilities Be realistic, make sure it is something you are able and capable of doing Enjoy the process and make it a labor of love, rather than making the process harder and overwhelming Do not make it something that is unrealistic

Time-Bound The time frame in which the goal will be accomplished
When to do certain tasks? How much time is spent on each aspect of the process Set concrete deadlines Know what to do in each stage and how much time needs to be spent on each specific task

Things to consider: Keep a positive attitude
Have encouragement and overcome adversity Keep track of progress and stay on task Make necessary adjustments
