What is BankMobile? A process to select how to receive student refunds and student payroll payments It is fast, secure, and convenient. Go to: to select a refund option BankMobile was recently known as HigherOne You are not required to open a BankMobile Vibe account… you may transfer funds to your own bank!

Provides a Choice! Your personal code is the key to log into the website to select a preference for how to receive your refund or student payroll payments. The CHOICE is yours, you may….. Direct Deposit into your own existing checking/savings account If you already have a savings or checking account at a bank, choosing Deposit to Another Account is the best option. Why BankMobile? To provide direct deposit and a debit card for students who are not able to open a bank account for various reasons To provide a faster way of getting students their money To prevent issues with check fraud Checks that are lost or stolen are better able to be addressed by a third party provider BankMobile is a Financial Services company – they have expertise in providing financial services

Watch for the Green Envelope
All students, after they have registered for credit courses, will be sent, via US Mail to their permanent address on file at LSC, their Refund Selection Kit (takes about one week to receive) After receiving your personal code, log into enter your code and select the refund option that is best for you.

What Should I do to Prepare?
The Refund Selection Kit is being shipped to your permanent address. MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS IS CORRECT! To change your address: Log in to E-Services on the LSC Web site Click on Account Management Click on Address Info Find the permanent address option, click Edit, change the address information, and click Change Address Your permanent address is the one that is used for all school mailings including the BankMobile Refund Selection Kit.

The Choice is Yours! While the choice of payment option is yours, other students have told us: If you already have a savings or checking account at a bank, choosing Deposit to Another Account is the best option. If you are not able to open a bank account, BankMobile is a solution for you to have a bank account with a debit card. If you do not choose an option a paper check will be mailed after 3 weeks. It may be difficult to cash a paper check because it is not from a local bank.

POINTERS… If there is anything wrong with your Refund Selection Kit (e.g., name spelling, etc.), contact the Student Payment Office BEFORE you choose your preference. You can make payments to individuals (e.g., landlords, etc.) directly from your BankMobile account at no charge even if you don’t have checks. You can transfer funds directly from your BankMobile account to someone else with a BankMobile Account (or they can transfer to you) at no charge

FAQs Why must I choose a refund preference?
It is required to choose a preference so that LSC knows how to disburse any refund money or student employment payments owed to you now and in the future. What happens if I do not log in to and choose an option? If you do not choose a refund option, you will be mailed a check after approximately 21 days. The check will be mailed to the same address as your card, unless you log in to the BankMobile site and change your address.

FAQs Do I need to do anything extra for student payroll?
Be sure to choose the appropriate preference; refund and/or payroll. If you receive both, you need to make a choice for both. What do I do if I am told I need to do a CIP verification? CIP Verification(Customer Identification Program) must be done online with BankMobile. You will need a current, official picture ID. Contact BankMobile Customer Service with any questions.

Your BankMobile Card is your debit card If you have funds in your account, your card can be used anywhere that accepts MasterCard debit cards Avoid Fees! Learn how to avoid fees (later slide) Track your transactions! Check your real-time statement online often! Remind to have other information available 80% verified through Lexus/Nexus – you may be contacted to provide additional documentation

Track Financial Information
Verify the deposits you have made appear on your online statement Verify the “withdrawals” – are accurately reflected on your online statement. This includes ATM Transactions Debit card transactions – Point of Sale Transactions or “done at the store” Checks – if you are choosing to use checks

General Tips You, not your financial institution or college, are responsible for monitoring account activity. Use automatic bill pay to reduce the number of checks you write. Understand fees. Fees can be avoided entirely by understanding how the card works. Proactively close your account with your financial institution – don’t just take out the funds and walk away. Use free ATMs.
